This would involve checking the rents of other comparable properties in the area that you live in.  He said: "Landlords like added security so if a tenant can provide a guarantor, pay rent up front or offer a larger deposit than usual, then there may also be some room for negotiation in the price."  Striking a deal could leave you with more disposable income with which to pay off your debts.
